Anna was born and raised in Pilot Mountain, North Carolina. She grew up playing make-believe and trying to figure out how to make a career out of it.

She is a voracious reader and advocate for diverse books and strong women in literature. She loves Kate Spade (a little too much) and thinks of herself as the small-town version of Carrie Bradshaw. She believes happiness comes from copious amounts of chocolate and falling in love with yourself first. Her favorite TV couple is Kevin Arnold and Winnie Cooper from The Wonder Years, because, after all these years, she still looks back with wonder. When she isn't writing, she enjoys hiking, video games, drinking red wine, and people-watching in Barnes & Noble.

She lives in North Carolina with a Boxer (Jackson) and two bossy cats (Felicity and Iris).
